Scout was born in May, 2005, and was rescued from a feral colony when he was two months old. He has lived in foster care ever since that time. He was put up for adoption and attended many adoption fairs during his first year of life, but because he hid at the fairs, he was never adopted. He has lived in foster care ever since.
Over the last year, Scout has become quite unhappy in his foster home and has taken to bullying the younger/shyer cats in an attempt to become the alpha cat in the home. The stress of a multicat household is high in the best of circumstances, but with outward hostility, bad behaviors are bound to develop. We believe that Scout would be happier as an only cat or in a home with one other mellow cat that does not pose a threat to him. He is highly intelligent and becomes bored easily.
Scout is a short haired orange and white boy who does not like to be held or restrained, but loves to cuddle up with his humans and get pets and snuggles. His fur is SO short and sleek, that he feels almost like a hairless cat! He has a long neck and long slim body and is very elegant looking. He makes an interesting sound when he walks--almost like he is wearing shoes! He is likes older kids and gets along with most of our cats and even our two dogs.
Scout has tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV, and is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. He is also microchipped.
If interested in adopting this special boy, please email us at info@ibokrescue.org. Thank you!
