Rumer was born in May, 2005, and brought into foster care when she was only two months old. Her brother Scout and sister Tallulah tamed up easily and Tallulah was adopted when she was four months old. Rumer was able to be handled the first months she was in and she was adopted in September, 2005. After only two days, she was returned because she became so terrified she would not eat or drink or use her litterbox, but just hid under a chair and trembled. :( She came back to us a changed kitty and after only a few weeks she managed to take off her collar as if to state loudly "I want to be feral!" We have not been able to handle her ever since, although she lives happily in foster care and is a great girl--although easily startled and afraid of humans. She loves shaved Bonita Fish and will run to her special spot every night to wait for her treat, but otherwise is rarely seen. She loves to sleep on her foster parents' bed, but not when they are in it! She will wait under the bed until they get up and within ten minutes will be sound asleep on her foster mom's pillow.
Rumer is a shorthaired Patch Tabby/Tortie--we call her Torbie--and is a big girl with a gorgeous face and beautiful markings. She loves to cuddle with the other cats in the home--especially Hannah, another sanctuaried girl. She will live out her life safe and inside as a "house feral" and we will care for her and love her and let her be herself for as long as she lives. If interested in sponsoring this very deserving girl, please email us at info@ibokrescue.org. Thank you!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
Special Needs: Rumer is a house feral, which means that she does not like to be touched by humans, but is comfortable sharing a house with them. As she is somewhat "wild" she is not adoptable but will live in foster care for the rest of her life.
